What's the difference between light and dark?
The light is filled with vision and insight
And the dark is not the right
The prisoners can only see
Only to some certain degree
Their eyes fool their brain
Which now they are restrained
Now they cannot embark
The only way out
Is through the intellectual route
And one must introspect
In order for real life to take effect
Life is not all about isolation
It works through self motivation and self determination

Lester, I love your last two lines, they perfectly tie your whole sonnet together. You showed that you know how to write a sonnet and that you understand the allegory. Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice change to read your sonnet. Most other people wrote their's in the Shakespearean style, but you didn't! I really enjoyed the first two lines of your second stanza. I feel that it is something that we can all relate two since from an early age we have all chosen the intellectual route.

Yeah you did the Petrarchan Sonnet too! I like how it runs smoothy and the rhymes, only thing I would suggest is to place more iambs.

Lesther, I love how you opened up with a rhetorical question, they always draw the reader in and that's exactly what you did! You also used very effective imagery and allowed me to get a clearer picture of what you were trying to say through your sonnet! Great job, it's very we written!
